Founded on July 10, 2023, by Teresa Dearman, Nonnie’s Shaved Ice Treats is the culmination of a lifelong journey rooted in family, passion, and community. After retiring from a successful 40-year career as a hairdresser and spending time working at General Motors, Teresa sought a new venture that would allow her to stay close to her family. Inspired by a trip to Arkansas, where she first discovered and fell in love with the refreshing delight of shaved ice, she set out to bring that experience to her hometown.

Drawing inspiration from LILO’s Shaved Ice Desserts in Liberty, Missouri, and with guidance from owner Tara who graciously shared some of her trade secrets, Teresa launched Nonnie’s as a family-run operation. From her grandsons Caleb, Caden, Colton, Casen, William, and granddaughter Madison, every member of the family plays a part in making Nonnie’s a welcoming, joyful experience for all.

What makes Nonnie’s truly unique is its commitment to quality and innovation. Teresa’s youngest son and grandsons developed a proprietary blend of pure cane sugar and water, cutting the sugar content nearly in half while maintaining bold, delicious flavor. Additionally, Nonnie’s has partnered with Shatto Milk to introduce a creamy ice cream center that elevates each shaved ice treat to a new level of indulgence.

In 2025, Nonnie’s is proud to expand its offerings with the addition of Indian tacos, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy. Loved by kids and adults alike, Nonnie’s is more than just a treat stand, it's a place where sweet moments and family memories are made.
