The First Responders Foundation of Kansas is dedicated to honoring the courage, service, and sacrifice of First Responders who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe. Founded in 2022 by Michael Pasco, a Volunteer Firefighter, the organization was born out of a deep desire to give back to those who risk their lives daily and to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Pasco previously organized the Wichita Officers Down 5K in 2015 and 2016 with the mission of uniting the community in support of First Responders not only in times of tragedy but on ordinary days as a show of gratitude. Building on that vision, he established the First Responders 5K Run & Walk Foundation to revive the First Responders-themed 5K event and raise funds for local First Responders throughout Kansas.

Through our events and initiatives, we aim to celebrate the bravery of First Responders, strengthen the bond between them and the community, and ensure their service is never forgotten.
