The Kearney School District Education Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to fostering academic excellence and enriching the educational experience for students in Kearney public schools. Since its founding in 2010, the Foundation has provided over $500,000 in support to teachers and students through initiatives such as Classroom Innovation Grants, Special Allocation Grants, scholarships for graduating seniors, and awards recognizing outstanding educators. By funding programs and projects not covered by tax dollars, the Foundation ensures that students have access to hands-on learning opportunities and enhanced educational experiences across STEAM subjects and beyond.
Guided by a board of nine committed community volunteers, an advisory board of twelve, and one part-time professional, the Foundation works closely with local businesses, alumni, and individual donors to maximize resources and impact. Operating independently from the Kearney School District and relying entirely on private contributions, the Foundation can fund vital programs and recognize the dedication of educators while empowering students to pursue higher education and lifelong learning. Generous support from the community has made it possible to award over $40,000 in grants and scholarships during the 2022-23 school year, and the Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to inspire, support, and elevate the educational journey of every KSD student.
