Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association (CBMBA) began in 1983 with a small group of passionate riders who simply wanted to share trails, races, and adventures. Today, it has evolved into the world’s oldest mountain bike club and a thriving 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining over 450 miles of breathtaking single track around Crested Butte. Through volunteer trail days, group rides, community events, and the hard work of the Crested Butte Conservation Corps, CBMBA continues to strengthen the bond between riders, trails, and the land that inspires them.
Driven by a love for the outdoors, CBMBA’s mission is to build, maintain, and advocate for sustainable trails while preserving the natural beauty of Crested Butte and beyond. From summer single tracks to free winter trails groomed for fat biking, skiing, and snowshoeing, CBMBA promotes recreation that respects and protects the environment. The organization believes that every ride, hike, or glide deepens our connection to nature and fuels a lifelong commitment to conservation.
