Founded in 2003 by Mary Mike Haley, Dana Zobs, and Cheryl Ryan, Living Journeys emerged from the success of the Breast Cancer Fund’s “Peak Hike” in Mt. Crested Butte. Recognizing the critical need for local cancer support, the founders established an organization dedicated to providing both emotional and financial assistance to individuals and families navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. From its earliest days, Living Journeys has combined community-driven initiatives with compassionate care, creating a network of hope and resilience.
Cheryl Ryan’s vision of a supportive community for patients, survivors, and families continues to guide Living Journeys’ programs, which include financial grants, counseling, and enrichment services. By alleviating burdens and offering practical tools, the organization empowers residents to face the fear, anxiety, and uncertainty of cancer with strength and confidence, making a meaningful difference in the lives of Gunnison County residents.
