REFORM Alliance is dedicated to transforming probation and parole by advancing meaningful changes in laws, systems, and culture to create real opportunities for work and wellbeing. The organization envisions a justice system that prioritizes accountability while helping people rebuild their lives, ultimately strengthening families and communities. By working to end the revolving door between supervision and prison, a cycle that drains billions from taxpayers, REFORM strives to shift individuals from incarceration toward stability and long-term success.
The movement began with the unjust re-imprisonment of recording artist Meek Mill, whose case shed light on the inequities of the system and sparked the international #FreeMeek movement. Recognizing that countless others face similar struggles without the resources or visibility to fight back, a group of leading philanthropists and activists united on January 23, 2019, to establish REFORM Alliance. Today, the organization continues to build on that momentum, giving a voice to those unheard and driving systemic change to ensure fairness, opportunity, and second chances for millions.
