Ounce Of Prevention

Our Mission at OOP is to unify the small efforts of many to create a greater impact to assist those diagnosed with and affected by cancer in Marshall County, Indiana.

Jennifer Oliver Houin and Jessica Oliver know firsthand the deep impact breast cancer can have on families and communities. Inspired by the losses of their grandmothers and the diagnosis of a loved one, they felt a strong desire to make a difference right here in Marshall County. This passion led them to create Ounce of Prevention, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness, offering support, and connecting with anyone affected by breast cancer. Their vision is simple yet powerful: to provide help that is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, economic status, or background.

Since opening their doors in early 2003, Ounce of Prevention has grown into a community cornerstone, raising over $400,000 and hosting fundraisers that bring people together in meaningful and uplifting ways. Every event, every donation, and every effort is focused on making a tangible impact for neighbors, friends, and families in Plymouth and beyond. By turning compassion into action, Jennifer, Jessica, and the Ounce of Prevention team continue to create hope, support survivors, and foster a stronger, healthier community.
