The Boys & Girls Club of Bisbee was founded through the vision and generosity of community leaders who sought to create meaningful opportunities for the children of Bisbee. With an initial $1.5 million gift entrusted to the Arizona Community Foundation in 1999, plans were set in motion to establish a safe, supportive, and inspiring space for local youth. By 2000, the Club was formally incorporated as a nonprofit organization, and through the dedication of its founding board and community partners, the former Phelps Dodge Mercantile building was transformed into the Club’s permanent home. In May 2002, the doors officially opened, marking the beginning of a lasting commitment to empower young people to reach their full potential.
Today, the Boys & Girls Club of Bisbee proudly serves over 600 youth each year, providing a positive environment where children and teens can learn, grow, and thrive. As one of only two Boys & Girls Clubs in Cochise County, the organization plays a vital role in supporting families along the U.S.–Mexico border. With programs focused on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and leadership development, the Club continues to honor its founding mission-building brighter futures for the youth of Bisbee and surrounding communities.
