Jersey Mike’s began in 1956 as one of the nation’s very first submarine sandwich shops, founded on the Jersey Shore where families gathered to surf, relax, and share great food. What set Mike’s apart wasn’t just the sandwiches-it was the personal touch. Mike took the time to know his customers by name, creating a loyal community that returned summer after summer. In 1975, a passionate teenager named Peter purchased the original shop and began expanding, carrying forward Mike’s vision and transforming a local favorite into a brand now loved across the country with more than 4,000 locations open and in development.
