American Legion Orange Baker Post 187

achievements of African-American military men and women. Established in 1948 following World War II, the post has a proud history of members who served in major conflicts, including World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Among its distinguished members were part of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first Black fighter pilots in the United States military.

Our post is home to a museum featuring memorabilia from various branches of military service, preserving the legacy and stories of those who served. We are committed to recognizing the courage of soldiers who, despite their qualifications, were historically overlooked for honors such as the Medal of Honor due to racial discrimination. The Orange Baker Post 187 Museum serves as a tribute to these heroes, ensuring their names and legacies are remembered and celebrated for future generations.
