For over five decades, the New Melle Fire Protection District has proudly served the community with dedication, integrity, and professionalism. What began as an all-volunteer department has evolved into the largest geographic fire protection district in St. Charles County, covering 121 square miles. With three strategically located fire stations and a committed team of 12 full-time firefighters and paramedics, supported by 28 volunteers, the district ensures round-the-clock emergency response and protection for residents and property alike.
Today, the New Melle Fire Protection District responds to nearly 900 calls annually, ranging from fires and rescues to hazardous materials and EMS incidents. Backed by a modern fleet of specialized vehicles, the district’s mission of putting “Community F.I.R.S.T.” reflects its guiding principles of Family, Integrity, Respect, Service, and Tradition. With teamwork, loyalty, compassion, and community at its core, New Melle FPD continues to safeguard lives and uphold a proud legacy of service and commitment.
