City National Bank of Florida has been a trusted financial partner since 1926, when Harvard-trained entrepreneur Baron de Hirsch Meyer and Providence-born accountant Leonard Abess first united with a shared vision: to help small businesses succeed by providing access to credit when few others would. Their collaboration led to the opening of North Shore Bank in 1946 on 71st Street in North Miami Beach the institution that would ultimately grow into City National Bank of Florida.

Over the years, the bank expanded under the City National name, consolidating into one unified institution as federal regulations allowed. For more than 75 years, City National Bank of Florida has extended its footprint beyond Miami, serving clients across Broward, Palm Beach, Orlando, Winter Park, and Tampa.

Built on a legacy of integrity, prudence, and client-focused service, City National Bank of Florida has earned a reputation for delivering practical banking solutions and a best-in-class experience. While the bank continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of today’s communities, its foundation remains firmly rooted in the values of its founders: supporting businesses, empowering individuals, and strengthening Florida’s economy.
