Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) has served the Savannah region since the era of electric streetcars in the late 19th century, continuously evolving to meet the transportation needs of residents and visitors. Today, CAT operates a modern and accessible public transit system that includes fixed-route buses, CAT Mobility vehicles, and water ferries, providing millions of annual passenger trips throughout Savannah, unincorporated Chatham County, and parts of Garden City.

With more than 1,300 bus stops and a centrally located intermodal transit center, CAT ensures reliable connectivity to workplaces, schools, healthcare facilities, hotels, and popular destinations across the community.
