Southwest Educational Partners for Training (SWEPT)
Home

Southwest Educational Partners for Training (SWEPT) was founded in response to the 2008 construction sector crash to help New Mexico residents access new, formal career pathways. As the COVID-19 pandemic further exposed long-standing inequities affecting low-income communities of color, SWEPT expanded its mission by redesigning adult education and workforce training across the state. Today, we prepare underemployed individuals for certified, in-demand careers in K–12 Education, Behavioral Health, Pre-Occupational Training, and Information Technology, working closely with educational institutions, social service organizations, and employer partners to align training with real workforce needs.

Through integrated academic support, wraparound services, and coordinated career guidance, SWEPT provides participants with the tools they need to improve family economic stability and pursue sustainable, middle-wage careers. Our comprehensive pathways are designed to break cycles of poverty and disenfranchisement by offering equitable access to high-need, stable professions. At SWEPT, we are committed to advancing economic mobility and creating opportunities for long-term, intergenerational success.
