Why you’ll love this evening
1. A breath-of-fresh-air way to networkWe start with a “netwalk” — an easy, sociable stroll through Battersea Park’s 200 acres of Grade II-listed greenery* on the Thames, first opened to Londoners in 1858. Expect lakeside views, the lakeside bandstand and a close-up look at the iconic Peace Pagoda as golden hour lights up the river.
2. Insider stories from the people who run the park
Our tour is led by Enable, the not-for-profit social enterprise that cares for Wandsworth’s parks and cultural venues. Their team will share hidden histories, planting projects and future plans as we walk.
3. A characterful gallery all to ourselves
At 7 pm we arrive at the Pump House Gallery & Pavilion – a four-storey Victorian tower built in 1861 to feed the boating lake, now a contemporary art space and the park’s only Grade II-listed building. Inside: panoramic park views, a private bar and room to mingle.
4. Summer flavours & easy conversation
Octagreen Catering will lay on a Mediterranean-style buffet – think warm moussaka and rainbow salads all paired with chilled wine or soft drinks. Vegetarian and vegan choices come as standard.
