Ted Vigil is a singer, songwriter, and tribute performer whose uncanny resemblance—both in looks and voice—to the legendary John Denver has captivated audiences across the country.
In 2006, Vigil rose to national attention after winning Talent Quest 2006 in Laughlin, NV, competing against contestants from 28 states, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada. He later claimed the title in KOMO TV 4’s NW Afternoon Celebrity Look-Alike Contest in Seattle. Since then, Vigil has toured nationwide, selling out theaters from Pennsylvania to Kansas, and performing twice for John Denver’s own Windstar Foundation in Aspen, CO.
Vigil has also shared the stage with country stars Darryl Worley and Jimmy Wayne on a Caribbean music cruise hosted by Great American Country’s Storme Warren. In recognition of his artistry, he was awarded the Rising Legend Award by the National Traditional Country Music Association. Perhaps his greatest endorsement came from Steve Weisberg, John Denver’s lead guitarist in the 1970s, who once said:
“Apparently the audience thinks they all look and sound like John. I don’t see it. I see it with Ted. A very strong physical resemblance… Uncanny!”
Audiences nationwide echo the same sentiment after every show: “I can’t believe how much he looks and sounds like John Denver—it really took us back!”
Born in Seattle and raised in Olympia, WA, Vigil began performing at just ten years old in concert, symphonic, and jazz bands, developing his talents as both a drummer and vocalist.
