Caregiver Education & Luncheon Series- Anticipatory Grief
Description

Carla Gabrielsen, Bereavement Coordinator at Lumina Hospice & Palliative Care, will present on Anticipatory Grief, which is mourning the loss of someone still alive, yet not the same as they once were. Watching a loved one’s capabilities diminish can trigger feelings of sadness, sorrow and helplessness. We will explore some coping strategies. This event is open to the public and free of charge. Lunch provided. Program begins at 12:30pm – 1:30pm. Registration is required. Register with Corvallis Parks and Rec by January 6. Register here or call 541.766.6959.

Carla joined Lumina in 2024 as our Bereavement Coordinator bringing years of experience as a social worker and a LMFT in California and Alaska. Carla has worked in the school system with grieving children and their families and as a community therapist.
