ECF Welcomes Sara Berkbigler as NewExecutive Director
Sara Berkbigler was recently welcomed as the new executive director of the Edwardsville Community Foundation.The organization serves Edwardsville, Glen Carbon and surrounding communities. Berkbigler brings more than 30 years of nonprofit management to ECF, with a professional background that most recently included her role as executive director of Rebuilding Together Southwestern Illinois and more than a decade as the Main Street Community Center’s executive director.
Berkbigler has a bachelor’s degree in communications and advertising from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with concentrations in business administration and English. She also holds a certificate in fundraising management from Washington University and has completed several fundraising courses through the Lily Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, IN.
A member of the Metro East Community Rotary Club and Little Black Book: Women in Business Southern Madison County Chapter, Berkbigler is also a Mary Kay consultant. She and husband Jeff reside in Edwardsville and are the parents of three grown sons: Jackson, Grant and Ty. A first grandchild is expected in late summer.
