Mathis, Marifian & Richter Ltd. Expands Legal Team, Adding Two New Attorneys

Mathis, Marifian & Richter Ltd. (MM&R), a legal firm serving the Metro East and St. Louis regions, recently announced the newest additions to its legal team: Brandon J. Klar and Robert A. Breidenbach.

Brandon J. Klar joins MM&R as an associate attorney. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and economics from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI., and received his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2020. Klar takes pride in building strong relationships with his clients and providing meaningful results at every stage of litigation, including bench and jury trials. He specializes in legal services such as personal injury, commercial litigation and workers’ compensation.

In addition to his legal practice, Klar volunteers with St. Louis Survivors Legal Support, providing pro bono legal representation to victims of domestic violence in St. Louis County, under the mentorship of former Presiding Judge Michael Burton. He also dedicates his time to Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts, offering legal services to local artists. Klar’s dedication to community service and advocacy reflects the values he brings to his role at MM&R.

Robert A. Breidenbach joins MM&R as a shareholder with a focus in commercial litigation and bankruptcy. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University in 1990 and a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1993. In his previous position, he represented medium-sized companies in Chapter 11 cases and debtors in Chapter 9 cases while working with committees, liquidating trustees, and bankruptcy trustees. He advocates for secured and unsecured creditors in various bankruptcy code cases and has litigated adversary proceedings involving debtors.

In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Breidenbach has represented receivers, banks and borrowers in commercial litigation and workout matters. He is licensed to practice law in both Missouri and Illinois. Outside of the courtroom, he has presented on bankruptcy topics and has been an active member of Rotary International.
