Ameren Illinois recently announced the promotion of Jason Klein to vice president of electric operations and technical services, according to Ameren Illinois Chairman & President Lenny Singh.

Klein, a mechanical engineer, has been with the company for nearly 30 years. In his role, he will be responsible for leading the company’s electric modernization program and overseeing more than 50,000 miles of distribution and transmission power lines for 1.2 million customers.

In his previous role as senior director of distribution operations, he was instrumental in the planning, engineering, and design of grid improvements that have enabled Ameren Illinois to improve reliability, reduce outages, and boost customer satisfaction.
