Touro University Nevada Appoints Barbara Molasky, Renowned Community Leader And Philanthropic Organizer, To Director Of Donor Engagement

Touro University Nevada announces the appointment of Barbara Molasky to Director of Donor Engagement. In this role, Molasky will support fundraising efforts for student scholarships and resources to enrich the university’s learning environment.

Highly regarded in Southern Nevada as a dynamic community leader and proven philanthropic organizer dedicated to building and elevating organizations that support a wide range of causes, including cultural institutions and disadvantaged populations, Molasky has more than three decades of experience.

She comes to Touro University Nevada after serving for nearly 10 years as Outreach Director at CORE, an organization she helped to establish that works with disadvantaged student scholars to provide support on their path to academic success. She also served as Director of Events and Giving for Opportunity Village, a prominent nonprofit that assists those with intellectual disabilities.

“Touro University Nevada hit a home run with the addition of Barbara Molasky to our dynamic development team,” said Patricia Salkin, Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs at Touro University. “She is easily one of Southern Nevada’s most respected philanthropic and community leaders whose accomplishments speak volumes of her reputation and track record of success. We are confident Barbara will play an important role in garnering significant community support as we continue to elevate and expand healthcare education in Southern Nevada.”

“At the heart of Las Vegas is a spirit of generosity and connection,” said Steven Peralta, Chief Strategic Development Officer for Touro University Nevada. “Barbara Molasky embodies that spirit, and it’s what she continues to do for our community. With Barbara leading our donor engagement efforts, we are poised to deepen those relationships and unlock transformative philanthropy that changes lives and fuels lasting impact for generations to come.”

Molasky’s rich and varied career began at the City of Las Vegas in 1994 where she served as a Planning Department and Neighborhood Services Management analyst. While at the City, she helped to found the Neon Museum, one of the nation’s most iconic and celebrated “only-in-Vegas” attractions that is consistently ranked by multiple media outlets as one of the country’s top museums.

From 1995 to 2007, Molasky served as president of the Neon Museum's founding board, overseeing the installation of some of its most iconic landmarks along Las Vegas Blvd. and Fremont Street. She played a key role in the relocation of the La Concha Motel which now serves as the lobby of the Neon Museum. Designed by Paul Williams, one of the country’s first African American architects, the La Concha Motel is considered one of the best-preserved examples of 1950s futuristic Googie architecture.

Molasky’s service to the community includes multiple board positions for such organizations as Nevada Institute of Contemporary Art, Discovery Children's Museum, National Jewish Hospital of Denver, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Nathan Adelson Hospice, Jewish Federation, Build a Greener Block, Straight to the Streets, Las Vegas Art Museum, UNLV library, PBS, and Nevada Donor Network, to name a few.
