Leavenworth CVB World Soccer Games 2026 Community Grant ProgramApplication & GuidelinesThe Leavenworth Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is excited to support local businesses and organizations in celebrating the 2026 World Soccer Games by offering grants up to $2,000 for events and activities in Leavenworth during June and July 2026. These grants are designed to encourage community engagement, enhance visitor experiences, and highlight Leavenworth as a welcoming destination during this international event. We have set aside up to $24,000 to sponsor area events. Preference will be given to applications that demonstrate a direct increase to hotel stays and tourism. An ideal application would be a collaboration between several businesses and organizations to create something special. Eligible Activities Grant funds may be used to support: • World Soccer Game watch parties (you cannot charge an admission fee to attend and it should be open to the public) • Small soccer tournaments or youth engagement activities • Cultural or international-themed events tied to the World Soccer Games • Other creative events/items that promote community involvement and tourism • Website updates with translation apps • Regional training seminars dealing with international visitors for the 2026 WC games. • Reprinting of a menu for international visitors with all-inclusive prices (most internationals do not understand our taxes and/or tipping rates) • Pub crawls or themed events • Other tourism related projects/activities/items – call us if you have a question Eligibility • Applicants must be a business, nonprofit organization, or civic group located within the City of Leavenworth, Kansas. • Events must occur between June 1 and July 19, 2026. • All events must be open to the public, okay to prohibit minors when warranted • Applicants must comply with all applicable Federal, State, city laws, ordinances, permits, and alcohol regulations (if applicable). Funding Guidelines • Maximum award: $2,000 per applicant. • Funds may be used for event supplies, marketing, entertainment, or other direct event costs. • Grant funds may not be used for: staff salaries, alcoholic beverages, capital improvements, projects/events that are affiliated with a political or religious party, lobbying, or advocacy activities. • Applicants must provide at least 25% in-kind or cash match (examples: volunteer hours, donated space, business contributions). • A brief event summary report (attendance estimates, photos, receipts, overall budget) must be turned in within 30 day of event.
